Hi! The story is simple. Salihah was looking for beautiful, clean furniture for her home in Lyons, Colorado. She couldn’t quite find what she envisioned—and didn’t want to spend an exorbitant amount on something mass-produced and shipped from far away.

Luckily, her friend Skiv is a woodworker and craftsman. He created a few dream pieces just for her.

They quickly realized something special was taking shape—and Tan Jun was born.

Tan Jun means “simple” in Japanese. After reading In Praise of Shadows by Jun'ichirō Tanizaki, Salihah and Skiv were deeply inspired by the idea of filling our spaces with objects that carry aesthetic meaning and quiet intention.
